OUR AIM

The federation stands as a pillar of all the Educational Publishers in India and primarily aims at becoming their voice. With the changing dynamics in the education sector in India, all educational publishers in India must stand tall with each other. FEPI focuses on coordinating their activities systematically and effectively.


Our vision and mission:

  • Ensuring proper working and harmony among publishers and government agencies so we can serve society better.
  • Producing books with quality content at low rates to promote education and take books to every remote corner of the country.
  • Focus on improving the standards of our books in the global market by keeping a close eye on the products.
  • Function as a forum for attending to the complaints of its members against Booksellers, Transporters, Printers etc.
  • Organize Book Exhibitions/Fairs and conduct Seminars and Workshops periodically to create proper awareness about the Educational Publishing Industry in India and also to inculcate reading habits among the masses. This includes organizing a training course, discussions, and other such means.

During 1992, the Federation took up its case with the DELHI DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (DDA) for allotment of a plot of land in the Capital for constructing a Secretariat complex consisting of an Office, Library Room, Conference Room to cope up with its expanding activities. With its untiring efforts, the Federation had been able to secure an allotment of a plot of and by the DDA measuring 450 sq mtrs.


The Construction of building has since been completed, and now the Federation is functioning from this office.


The Federation has been seeking denationalization of the supply of Text Books which is presently monopolised by the NCERT and SCERT.


The Federation conducts seminars on topics which are of interest to its members. In the past it has conducted seminars on

  • Book Marketing in India during Book Fair at Frankfurt.
  • Seminar on Export of Books in Delhi.
  • Seminar on Anti-piracy in Delhi.
  • Seminar on Introduction in Delhi of VAT on Printing expenses in Delhi

To install a spirit of healthy competition amongst our Members and consequent improvement in the quality of books produced by them, the Fed- eration has instituted Awards for the Best Book Produced during the Year in 5 distinct categories namely- Pre-Primary, Middle, HS/Higher Secondary Standards and College level books. These Awards are awarded each year at the time of the Annual General Meeting of the Federation.

The federation has also instituted awards to distinguished authors, educationists, educational institutions and young publishers.

To maintain healthy and cordial relations amongst our fellow Mem- bers, Federation has advised all its Members not to employ Workers/ex- Worker of another Member without being satisfied that he had been properly relied by his previous employer.
